African American students who attended Freeport High School or Aquin. Must maintain a 2.0 GPA or better. Financial need is a consideration.

Full Scholarship Name: Lola Burd Borchers Music

Student must be studying music and attending HCC full-time and maintain a minimum GPA of a 2.0. Financial need will be a consideration.

Full Scholarship Name: Cyril Broshous Memorial

Full time sophomore students majoring in Agriculture or interested in Environmental Science.

Buss Fine Arts Scholarship
Full Scholarship Name: Eduard Buss Fine Arts

Student must be enrolled full-time in the one of the following areas: Art, Music, or Theatre. Academic excellence will be a criterion. A minimum GPA from a High School Student is a 2.5 and a college student 2.75.
Academic Interests: Art, Art Education, Graphic Design, Instrumental Music, Vocal Music, Music Education, Performance Theatre, Technical Theatre


Buss Humanities/Social Science Scholarship
Full Scholarship Name: Eduard Buss Humanities/Social Science

Student must be full-time and pursuing a degree in the field of Humanities or Social Science. Academic excellence will be the primary criterion. A minimum GPA of a 2.5 is required for High School Students and a 2.75 for college students.
Academic Interests: Communications, English, Foreign Language, History, Journalism, Philosophy, Political Science, Psychology, Sociology, Speech, and other H/SS curriculum


Early Childhood Consortium Scholarship
Full Scholarship Name:  Early Childhood Consortium

Award to be given in the spring semester to a Highland Community College District Student who is pursuing a certificate or a degree in Early Childhood Education or Professional Education.

Ferguson Fine Arts Merit Scholarship
Full Scholarship Name:  Ferguson Fine Arts Merit

Students must be full-time and be pursuing a degree in theatre, music and/or art majors. A minimum GPA of a 2.75 is required.

Grouchy Vocal Music Scholarship
Full Scholarship Name: Matthew and Evelyn Grouchy Vocal Music

Student must be a full-time female, and be participating in a vocal ensemble at HCC. Also must be enrolled or completed Applied Music I or Applied Music II. Student must have a minimum GPA of a 2.75 after their first semester. Financial need will be a consideration.
