HCC Trustees sign transfer agreement with University of Illinois

FREEPORTDuring their April 17 regular meeting, the Highland Community College Board of Trustees held a public signing of a landmark transfer agreement between HCC and the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign (UIUC) College of Agricultural, Consumer and Environmental Sciences (ACES). Specifically, this agreement states that Highland students completing prescribed transfer-degree programs at HCC will be admitted to UIUC College of ACES at junior-level status in a relevant field of study.

Highland Board of Trustees President David Shockey, HCC President Joe Kanosky and Associate Dean of Academic Programs for ACES Laurie Kramer sign the new transfer agreement during the April regular session board meeting.

This groundbreaking agreement will allow Highland students to transfer seamlessly into baccalaureate programs housed in the College of ACES at University of Illinois, Urbana-Champaign, said Tim Hood, vice president of academic services. These and future productive discussions represent a significant commitment to better serve our students through transfer facilitation.

Hood emphasized the arrangement will enhance cooperative learning both at the community college and the university level. This arrangement will ensure that Highland and UIUC College of ACES representatives meet regularly to assess curricular changes and other conditions that may impact the agreement. Hood also commended Dean of Business and Technology Scott Anderson and Transfer Coordinator Thedford Jackson for their support of this initiative. funny easter pictures
