Highland Community College Foundation to host Country Fair fundraiser to support HCC
6/26/2014

Freeport, IL -- The Highland Community College Foundation is preparing for "Country Fair,' a charity fundraising event to support Highland Community College.

On Saturday, August 16, 2014,  guests at the country Victorian home of Rocky and Dawn Zuberbuhler will experience a grand time, food with a country fair flair, as well as fitting music and other treats and activities. The HCC Foundation will again offer its very popular and competitive live and silent auction items.

"Country Fair" begins at 5:00 p.m. with a silent auction. Live auction will begin at 7:00 p.m., with local auctioneer and HCC alum, Doug Munda, of Munda and Associates, looking for the highest bidder. Tickets are $50 per person and may be purchased by contacting the HCC Foundation at 815.599.3413 or online at highland.thankyou4caring.org. Seating will be limited, so order your tickets today.

Sponsors and donated auction items will receive special mention in advance publicity, event-night signage and the auction program. Several levels of sponsorships are available, and cash contributions are welcomed.

Proceeds from the event will benefit the HCC Foundation's Growing for tomorrow...Changing lives today campaign, which supports the Ray and Betty Stamm Health Science Nursing Wing and Nursing and Allied Health programs, the Wind Turbine Technician program, and also scholarships and program enhancements related to these majors.

In 2013, Shindig III, "Celebrating the Oscars, A Night of Stars," was hosted by Hank and Linda Fortney at their gorgeous, modern home near Red Oak.

The first Shindig was held in August, 2011, and was called "Shindig at the Stables." That event was hosted by Janey Morse, and the late Don Morse, at their Oak Ridge Arabian Stables. Keith and Diane Martin hosted Shindig II, "The Great Gatsby," in 2012 at their historical estate in Freeport.
