HCC Agriculture Department hosts banquet

The Agriculture Department at Highland hosted "People, Purpose & Passion: The Pathway to Success" banquet on Thursday, April 2 at the Student/Conference Center on campus.

More than 90 community members, students and faculty of HCC gathered to discuss the exciting future of the agriculture program. Tim Hood, HCC Executive Vice President and Chase Stoddard, Highland Ag Club President, gave a short program recognizing the People that have helped make a positive influence on the HCC Agriculture program. Fellow students Jalen Holman, Karissa Corbin, Marshall Fink, and Sarah Duncan discussed the Purpose of the agriculture program, highlighting the current program curriculum. The evening concluded with Justin Ebert, HCC Agriculture Instructor, discussing the Passion of the program by highlighting the success of the newly formed Ag Club and talked about plans for the future.

This plan includes the addition of some new curriculum, expanding judging opportunities, and making connections through internships.

"The evening was a huge success, with an opportunity to share fellowship with many supporters of the program, while raising some money for the Ag Club, making it a wonderful event," Ebert said.

More than 30 silent auction items were open for bid, which included Wisconsin Badger basketball tickets, Cubs and Brewers tickets, bags of seed and a painting were just some of the items.

The Highland Ag Club would like to thank everyone that attended the fund-raiser, gave donations for the auction, or has contributed to the agriculture program throughout the year.
