Fegan named head coach of Highland Cougar Baseball

Highland Community College has named Roger Fegan as the new head baseball coach for the Highland Cougars. He replaces Don Tresemer, who retired after 10 years as Highland baseball coach. Fegan comes to the program with seven years of experience as the head baseball coach at Freeport High School.

Prior to his head coaching experience, Fegan served as assistant coach at Concordia University Chicago, helping the Concordia Cougars win a conference championship in 2009.

As a player, Fegan was a three-year captain of Concordia University Chicago team; selected All-Northern Illinois - Iowa Conference Team for three years, and a Central Region Third Team selection in 2003.

"I would first like to thank Coach Don Tresemer and his 10 years of dedication to the Highland Cougars and our baseball program," said Highland athletic director, Pete Norman. “We are very excited and fortunate to have Coach Roger Fegan take over the reins of Highland Cougar Baseball.  Roger has such great enthusiasm and passion for the game of baseball and is an outstanding leader of young men.  I am confident Roger’s passion and work ethic will lead the Highland Baseball program to a new level of success and we will see tremendous growth immediately in our baseball program under his leadership."

A Freeport resident, Fegan currently serves as a physical education, health, and driver’s education instructor at Freeport High School.
