This guest lecture will explore the lives\, cultures and legacies of the Ho-Chunk\, Potawatomi and other indigenous nations\, delving into their interactions with settlers\, including the Macktown settlement near the Pecatonica River. Participants will also learn about the ancient Native American mounds found throughout the Midwest. \nThis engaging presentation is sponsored by Highland’s Diversity Committee. Board members from Macktown Living History Center will provide unique insights into these tribes’ lasting regional impact.
