Dr. Norm Moline, professor emeritus of Geography at Augustana College, focuses on the misunderstandings Americans and
Chinese have for each other and their respective cultures and societies. He was one of the founders of Augustana’s East Asia
Overseas Term in 1974, and was then director or co-director of this program for 36 years. In 1977 the program’s students were the first from an American University to be admitted to post-Mao China. Dr. Moline has visited China 40 times between 1977 and 2019.
