Location: Zoom™
This session will be an opportunity for discussion of part II, chapters 8-16, of “When They Call You a Terrorist: A Black Lives Matter Memoir” by Patrisse Khan-Cullors and Asha Bandele.
These chapters cover Khan-Cullors and her further development as an activist including the effect of her brother’s incarceration and the torture and trauma that he experienced. Khan-Cullors makes connections between the Black Lives Matter movement and the historical Civil Rights Movement and discusses activism, protest, and her experience of being labeled a terrorist because of her activism.
