DESCRIPTION:Join the Clarence Mitchell Library and Highland’s Honors Program as honors students present their fall 2023 honors projects! \nGet the Zoom link here. \nFall 2023 Honors projects \n\nDaniel Creuzer (CHEM 221) – Researched the value of implementing Course-based Undergraduate Research Experiences (CUREs) for all CHEM 222 students.\nOlivia Wilhelms (INFT 190) – Created a computer program\, and accompanying paper\, related to purchasing movie tickets and the updating of inventory available.\nClara Bartels (EDUC 221) – Completed research and a paper on how AI is used and how it has\, and will\, affect education.\nGenesis Cole (HUMA 104) – Researched a visual artist’s life\, work and influences\, including their impact of the artist.\nNatalie Yeoman (INFT 180) – Conducted research and completed a paper on self-driving vehicles\, specifically in relation to how AI is improving and expanding this area.\nHilaree Lombardo (NURS 292) – Researched and investigated how AI\, such as ChatGPT\, is used in Nursing Education.\nColleen Stone (BIO 213) – Completed research and paper on the physiology of death\, focusing on concepts through an Anatomy and Physiology perspective.\nKee Henze (BIO 116) – Researched birds seen on campus and studied their migration patterns\, including if\, and how\, manmade structures may affect these populations.\nKaitlynn Smith (ACCT 105) – Researched and updated study guides for the Accounting program\, making it easier and clearer for future students.\nFranklin Munda (MTEC 270) – Created models\, blueprints\, and programs for both a soap dish and a guitar neck support\, as well as creating the physical parts in the CNC mill.\nDaeshon Verner (BIOL 208) – Conducted a simulated experiment detecting the sickle cell gene using a gel electrophoresis kit\, to educate others on sickle cell anemia.\nAlexa Lancaster (SOCI 171) – Researched and presented on current sociology topics to FHS students.\nAJ Evon (SPCH 191) – Completed an additional “speech to entertain” and presented to the class\, persuading classmates on a particular topic while using jokes and other humorous elements for entertainment and audience engagement.\nAJ Evon (THEA 196) – Appeared as the character of “Red Dog” in the children’s production of Go\, Dog\, Go\, creating cue lists\, memorizing lines\, and stage directions.
