Using a basic bodice and skirt pattern, you will first construct a simple muslin mock-up. Then through learning how to alter the commercial pattern, you will learn the necessary skills to make pattern adjustments for sewing your own properly fitted garments. Another mock-up will be made with the alterations, which will serve as a foundation for future clothing projects. In this course, students will follow the many rises and falls of various American lumber capitals and discover the role the Upper Mississippi River had in the American lumber saga. It then covers the details leading up to the morning of July 2, 1881, at the Baltimore and Potomac Railroad Station in Washington, DC. It covers the capture, trial, and execution of Guiteau. It covers the poor medical treatment received by Garfield and his death on September 19, 1881. The current status of the Railroad station and the gravesite of Garfield are also explored.
