The library provides access to our online and physical collections through ourĀ Discovery @ Clarence Mitchell Library search tool. Search for books, ebooks, and articles from a variety of sources. You will find material available for checkout from the HCC Library, items which can be requested from other libraries in our PrairieCat consortium, and many other resources.

Citation Help:

HCC Student Writing Style and Form Guide

Check the style guide created by Highland’s own Success Center staff. This guide is preferred by many Highland instructors for citations and references in term papers. It includes information on formatting in both MLA and APA Styles. With more detailed questions, you may need to consult the MLA or APA style guides themselves, both of which are available in the library. This item is in PDF format and requires the Adobe Acrobat Reader.

EasyBib Easy to use citation, note taking, and research tools are available from EasyBib. Register yourself to use the academic version of Easybib from home. There is no cost for an EasyBib account if you register using Highland’s EasyBib code

Interlibrary Loan (borrowing items beyond PrairieCat)

When Highland students, faculty and staff need library resources beyond the PrairieCat catalog, they may request interlibrary loan (ILL) of books or articles. Interlibrary loan is a service that enables users to borrow materials owned by libraries beyond PrairieCat, from Illinois libraries or libraries throughout the country.

Items found via Discovery @ Clarence Mitchell Library can be requested via the ILL request form in your results list. Contact the library for further assistance with Interlibrary Loan.
