Adult Education

Welcome to Highland Community College’s Adult Education Department!

We provide the following FREE services to students who live in Stephenson, Jo Daviess, Carroll, and Ogle counties.

  • GED classes and tutoring
  • ESL classes and tutoring

Classes and Tutoring are offered in the following formats:

  • In-person: attend classes in-person
  • Virtual/Hybrid: classes meet over Zoom at certain days and times
  • Distance Learning: no set class days/times, students regularly check in with their teacher

No computer? No problem! We have laptops for eligible students to borrow for the semester.

Classes and tutoring start for the fall semester on August 23.
