A survey regarding employees’ open enrollment experience was administered to benefit eligible staff/faculty following our first virtual open enrollment for health, dental, vision, flexible spending and critical illness/injury insurance at the end of May/beginning of June. To minimize potential errors during employee benefit enrollment and increase efficiency, Human Resources added self-service benefit enrollment through ADP. Of the 142 employees who completed open enrollment online, 64 completed the survey. Below are some of the highlights of the survey data. For the question “On a scale of 1 – 5, with 5 being the most difficult, how difficult was the online open enrollment process for you?” 86% of employees responding indicated that the process was Very Easy/Easy while 5% described the process as Very Difficult/Difficult and 9% were somewhere in between. In addition, 75% of employees responding indicated that they either attended the live Zoom open enrollment meeting on May 14 or watched the recording of the meeting, 63% indicated that they viewed the video with instructions on how to enroll in ADP and 59% indicated that they used the print instructional guide on how to enroll n ADP. Commenters indicated that they thought the process was less confusing and the process seemed easier and smoother. The feedback received from the survey will be used in planning for next year’s open enrollment. One goal is to provide more education on the health insurance plans prior to open enrollment. |
