Highland Community College Women in Science Club welcomes Ebony McClellan, PharmD, for a virtual dialogue about career choices at 1 p.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 18 via Zoom™.

McClellan is a Freeport High School and Highland Community College alum. She will present her educational pathway and experiences that led to a career as a pharmacist.

“We like to highlight women in various fields to educate and encourage our members and community about careers in science,” said Karla Giuffre, Highland biology instructor. “After Ebony shares her story, we will open it up to questions from members of our club and the public.”

McClellan is an industry pharmacist at Precision Dose where she analyzes drug stability properties to ensure chemical and microbiological components are within normal specification limits to ensure patient safety.

At Highland Community College, McClellan earned an Associates of Applied Science degree with a focus in pre-pharmacy. She participated in the Honors program, Project Succeed, National Physics Honor Society, Student Senate, and Phi Theta Kappa.

She graduated from Highland Community College in 2011, and transferred to the University of Wisconsin School of Pharmacy. Ebony transferred to Roosevelt University School of Pharmacy in Schaumburg, and graduated from the Doctor of Pharmacy program in 2018.
