In 2021-2022, regular classified, administrative and professional employees (excluding April and September grant employees) will actually receive 27 paychecks. There will be an adjustment in the FY22 biweekly pay for full-time administrative and professional employees. Each paycheck will be 1/27 of the fiscal year salary, rather than the usual 1/26 fiscal year salary. The biweekly paychecks will be smaller (since fiscal salary will be divided by 27, rather than 26), but the full salary will be paid over the course of 27 paychecks. As you are aware, professional and administrative employees are paid an annualized amount, not a biweekly amount. The annual salary amount is divided over however many pay periods are in the fiscal year. Non-exempt employees are paid an hourly amount for actual hours worked, so their biweekly pay will not be impacted. The first paycheck effected by this adjustment will be pay date July 1, 2021, and the last paycheck effected will be dated June 30, 2022. There will be a benefits deduction “holiday” the final biweekly period of FY22, so that benefits that have deductions taken out over 26 pay periods will only have 26 deductions. |
