HR Update COVID-19 – 03/23/2020

Faculty and Staff,
With the recent report of positive test results in our district, please continue to follow the guidelines recommended by the CDC and our local health officials during this public health emergency.
According to a recent statement by FHN and the Stephenson County Health Department: Except in emergency cases, individuals who think they may have COVID-19 or who believe they have been in contact with someone who has been diagnosed with or is under evaluation for the disease should STAY HOME and CALL their healthcare provider or FHN for further direction.
FHN has also implemented a hotline for mobile testing of COVID-19 where callers are screened to determine their risk level and appointments for the testing are scheduled if appropriate. Individuals can NOT be tested at the mobile location without an appointment. The hotline number is 815-599-6412.
Monroe Clinic is offering a free virtual evaluation for those concerned that they are experiencing symptoms. Just go to https://www.monroeclinic.org/coronavirus to get started. If you cannot access this digital resource, please call their nurses line at 1-800-576-8773 for a screening and any additional instructions.

The CDC recommends to prevent illness practices these actions:

  • Wash your hands often with soap and water for at least 20 seconds.
  • Clean and disinfect frequently touched objects and surfaces.
  • Cover your cough or sneeze into a tissue, then throw it into the trash.
  • Avoid close contact with people who are sick.
  • Avoid touching your eyes, nose, and mouth.
  • Stay home when you are sick, except to get medical care.
