Due to COVID-19, employees have not been using their insurance benefits at the same level. Because of this, some medical, dental, and vision carriers are providing employers with a credit against future premiums owed under their insurance contracts.
In the October bill from Blue Cross Blue Shield (received in November), Highland received a medical and dental premium credit. This premium credit is to be shared with employees based on our plan’s normal contribution percentage (78% employer contribution, 22% employee contribution.) Employees with coverage received their share of the employee portion of the one-time premium credit on the paycheck dated November 20, 2020. Click on this link to see the announcement from BCBSIL.
