Return to Work/Health and Safety Training

HR Cougar Corner

As communicated last week, Highland will be implementing a return to work plan starting Monday, June 8. During Phase 3, employees are still encouraged to telecommute. Supervisors will determine minimum staffing needs on campus and will work with department staff to determine an equitable manner for coverage based on social distancing and workflow requirements and minimum staffing levels (based on department functions and needs).

The guidance from the Restore Illinois plan indicates that each employee is expected to complete an online health and safety training session prior to returning to work. A short training module (less than 15 minutes) has been developed using Safe Colleges, the same learning management system utilized to deliver compliance training at Highland. The training module provides information on practices to follow on campus for a safer transition back to work for you and your co-workers. All employees have been given access to the training, so you may complete it as needed.

In order to access the training:

The course, Return to Work Practices at Highland Community College, is located under COVID-19 Training. Please complete the training prior to coming back to campus as part of the return to work plan.

If you have difficulty accessing the training, send an email to christie.lewis@highland.edu.
