2020 Election Information

While Highland Community College is closed on November 3, 2020 for the general election, you can volunteer as election judges in your respective county. Below is a list of requirements by county you must meet in addition to being at least 16-years-old.

Stephenson County

  • Be a citizen of the United States.
  • Be of good repute and character.
  • Be able to speak, read and write the English language.
  • Be skilled in the four fundamental rules of mathematics.
  • Be of good understanding and capable.
  • Not be a candidate for any office in the election and not be elected committeeman.

Ogle County

  • Be a citizen of the United States.
  • Be of good repute and character.
  • Be able to speak, read and write the English language.
  • Be of good understanding and capable.
  • Not be a candidate for any office in the election and not be elected committeeman.
  • Need to be registered to vote in the county.
  • Each Election Judge is required to declare their party preference so they can be assigned accordingly.

Winnebago County

  • A citizen of the United States; a resident of and registered to vote in the Winnebago County.
  • Be of good repute and character.
  • Able to speak, read and write the English language.
  • Able to comprehend and follow instructions.
  • Be responsible for your transportation to and from the polling place you have been scheduled to work.

Boone County

  • Be a United States citizen or will be a citizen at the time of election.
  • Be of good repute and character.
  • Be skilled in the four fundamentals of arithmetic.
  • Be of good understanding and capable.
  • Be a resident of and be registered to vote in Boone County.
  • Be responsible for my transportation to and from the polling place where I have been scheduled to work.
  • Complete a training session provided by the County Clerk.
