Auto Body students receive Collision Repair Education Foundation scholarships

Freeport — Highland Auto Body students Jason Nelson and Kyle Ludwig were recently awarded scholarships through the Collision Repair Education Foundation.

Nelson was awarded the Michael Salvatore Memorial Scholarship amounting to $3,000, and Ludwig received the Lon Baudoux Legacy Foundation Scholarship totaling $2,000.

“This is significant as it’s the first time that two of our students received Collision Repair Education Foundation scholarships in the same year,” said Auto Body instructor Todd Vacek. “This makes five scholarship winners in the past three years.”

The Collision Repair Education Foundation’s mission is to “support collision repair educational programs, schools, and students to create qualified, entry-level employees and connect them with an array of career opportunities.”
