Blackhawk High School students receive scholarships to Highland

Colton Klemm and Grace Neff, graduating seniors from Blackhawk High School in South Wayne, Wis. have been given $1,000 Blackhawk Excellence scholarships each to attend Highland Community College in Freeport, Ill. in the fall. Their scholarships were received at awards night on May 16.

Both students were in the top 10 percent of their class, allowing eligibility to receive the scholarships from the Highland Community College Foundation.

“We look at students who are top in their class looking to attend Highland Community College for this scholarship,” said Kerri Crotty-Bartholf, guidance counselor at Blackhawk High School. “The students have a chance to go to college closer to their home. What a wonderful opportunity for each of them.”
