February Lifelong Learning schedule includes in-person and online classes

Highland Community College Lifelong Learning February courses include World War II in the Pacific, Walk and Stretch, Genealogy Basics, and Succulent Garden Planter. Some courses are held in-person, while everyone practices social distancing, and wearing a mask, while others have the option to attend through Zoom™. Tips for Writing Simple Wills, Powers of Attorney for Health Care or Property

Learn how to write a simple will or a health care or property power of attorney, and about these important documents. The course details what is necessary to get affairs in order, or the affairs of a loved one. (Insightful information; does not take the place of legal counsel.)

World War II in Europe and North Africa – HCC and Zoom™

Take a closer look at World War II in Europe and North Africa. This course will cover the cultural background of Germany before the war and the events that led to the Nazi attack on Poland. Battles in Dunkirk, Britain, Russia, North Africa, and Sicily are covered, as well as Battle of the Bulge and D-Day.

CBD Oil and Medical Marijuana – What You Should Know

Succulent Garden Planter

Location: Clara Joyce Flowers, 13493 E. Blair Hill Rd., Stockton, Ill.

Class: Feb. 27; 5 — 6:30 p.m.

Instructor: Drew Groezinger

Drew Groezinger from Clara Joyce Flowers will teach how to successfully grow and arrange succulents for the home. All materials will be provided. Participants will take home one large succulent garden.

Learn about Cahokia, the most influential urban settlement of the Mississippian culture dating from 700 – 1400. Located just east of St. Louis, MO, Cahokia is considered the largest and most complex archaeological site north of Mexico’s pre-Columbian cities.
