Gene Haas Scholarship now available for CNC Machining students

The Highland Community College Foundation and HCC Business and Technology Division have announced a new scholarship opportunity available for CNC Machining students attending this fall.

This Gene Haas Foundation Scholarship consists of several $500 awards for students who will be enrolled in the CNC Machining program. The student must be enrolled in one of the following classes to be eligible for the scholarship:

 

  • MTEC151 Machine Processes I
  • MTEC270 CNC Mill
  • MTEC280 CNC Lathe
  • MTEC285 Advanced CNC Machining

 

Founded in 1999 by the owner of Haas Automation, Inc., the Gene Haas Foundation promotes the pursuit of career and technical education which results in advancing students’ education and a globally competitive workforce.

Highland students are among the most productive, innovative and dedicated, and the College is honored to recognize their achievements by making these scholarships available to assist in furthering their education.

The deadline to apply for the scholarship is August 1. It is open to students from Stephenson, Jo Daviess, Ogle and Carroll counties. To be considered for this scholarship, the student must have a copy of their completed FAFSA application on file with the HCC Financial Aid Office.
