Learn how to draft professional patterns, but first, you must learn the rules of drafting and how to use the drafting equipment. Learn how to correctly take the needed measurements. You will learn the formulas used by the top European and domestic designers of the world. You will learn to draft patterns from beginning to end for ready-to-wear and custom garments. Stop wasting time and money and using commercial patterns. Learn how to make your own, and start designing your own line of clothing that will fit and enhance your body. These are the same formulas used by all of the top designers in the world.
Non-sewers, beginners, intermediate, and advanced sewers are welcome to learn how to sew from the Master Tailor-Designer Eric W. Stiles Sr., former top Supervisor and Head Tailor-Fitter for Giorgio Armani, Polo Ralph Lauren, and others. Stop making “home-made looking” clothing, learn how to make clothes like the professionals. In this class, we will cover the machine set-up and two types of seams. It’s highly recommended to take the Sewing/Tailoring and the Pattern Making classes together to enhance and maximize your skills. No sewing experience is required. Medicine of the Civil War

The creation of the National Museum of Civil War Medicine started as the idea of Gordon E. Dammann, D.D.S., whose collection of medical artifacts from the Civil War forms the core of the museum’s holdings. He began collecting in 1972 and felt a museum would be a good way to share his collection. Dammann is the author of the three-volume Pictorial Encyclopedia of Civil War Medical Instruments and Equipment, co-author of Images of Civil War Medicine-A Photographic History, and editor of the reprint Memoirs of Jonathan Letterman, MD Surgeon of US Army 1861-1864.
World War II – Europe (1933-1945)

This class takes a closer look at World War II in Europe and North Africa. It examines the cultural background of Germany, Great Britain, France, Russia, Italy, and the Jews before the war. It looks at the events that led to the Nazi attack on Poland. Time will be spent reviewing certain battles including Dunkirk, Battle of Britain, Battle of the Atlantic, Russia, North Africa, Sicily, Stalingrad, D-Day Battle of the Bulge, and Berlin. The class will also examine the view of Germany toward the war today and its effect on European neighbors. Session One: World War 1, European Backgrounds, Diplomacy Failure. Create candles with six items. Basic candlemaking will teach you how to melt and pour wax, set up wicks and how to complete candles in containers and molds creating single or multi-layered colors. Students will learn about wax types, wicks, weights, scents, coloring, molds, and containers, and all other basic candlemaking knowledge. You will also learn how to recycle wax and containers for reuse and will receive a detailed handout of all material covered in class and links for purchasing supplies. Students will take home the candle they make.
