On Friday, April 19, the Concert Band will perform their spring instrumental concert beginning at 7 p.m. in the Fine Arts Theatre in the Ferguson Fine Arts Center, 2998 W. Pearl City Rd., Freeport, Ill.
Under the direction of Scott Stich, the Highland Concert Band, the ensemble will play a wide variety of literature including two folksongs from the British Isles, an American folk song, a Russian Galop, 20th century American work, music of the Gabrieli brass Choir, a Mozart woodwind choir, and one solo timpani solo. The band will be playing the music of Alfred Reed, Ralph Vaughan Williams, and Dimitri Shostakovich. Music ranges from standard to contemporary.
