The HCC Royal Scots vocal jazz ensemble presents ‘Cabaret Night’

The Highland Community College Royal Scots vocal jazz ensemble will present a program of contemporary popular music, jazz standards and songs from the “Great American Songbook” in concert on Friday, April 28 at 7:30 p.m. in the Ferguson Fine Arts Center.

Selections will include the music of Duke Ellington, Irving Berlin, Cole Porter, George Gershwin, Burt Bachrach, the Pentatonix and numerous other composers. The talented ensemble of eight vocalists will be supported by members of the “Cannova’s House Band” including Patrick Beckman, John Hartman, Rick Andrews and Jon Watson. Elvert Williams will be the special guest for the evening of music.

Songs performed during “Cabaret Night” include, “Take the A-Train,” “This Joint is Jumpin,” “Fly Me to the Moon,” “In My Life,” “Take Me Home,” “The Look of Love,” “What a Wonderful World,” “Bridge Over Troubled Waters,” selections from the musical “Hamilton” and more.

Tickets are $10 for adults, $8 for seniors, and $6 for students and can be purchased through the Highland website or by calling the box office at 815.599.3718. There is a $2 service fee for each ticket purchased.
