The Highland Gallery will feature work by current Highland Community College Visual Arts faculty members from Oct. 23 through Dec. 2 at the Ferguson Fine Arts Center. The Visual Art Faculty Exhibit displays recent creations by faculty for contemplation, stimulation and discussion. The opening reception will be from 4:30 to 6 p.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 23.
This popular annual exhibit will showcase recent work by Robert Apolloni, Alex Jansen and Loretta Swanson, all working artists and HCC visual art instructors.
“The exhibit illuminates original work by HCC visual arts faculty,” said Robert Apolloni, who also serves as gallery director. “This is always a popular exhibit as it presents our art instructors as professional exhibiting artists, unlike their more familiar role as visual art instructors.”
The show highlights the faculty’s breadth of experience and expertise, spanning multiple media, themes and styles in this eclectic exhibition. At the reception, mingle with the art faculty and learn what has inspired their works.
Robert Apolloni will exhibit mixed-media drawings, Alex Jansen will exhibit photographs and Loretta Swanson will exhibit prints and drawings.
Refreshments will be served at the reception Oct. 23. The exhibit is publicly viewable through Dec. 2.
