Highland to host NJCAA Region IV Basketball Tournament

FREEPORT — Highland Community College is hosting the 2017 NJCAA Division I Region IV Men’s and Women’s Basketball Tournament beginning on Thursday, March 2, in the Larry F. Kahl Gymnasium, located in the HCC/YMCA Sports Center.

Men’s games will be held at 4 p.m., 6 p.m. and 8 p.m. on Thursday, March 2, with semifinals held at 6 p.m. and 8 p.m. on Saturday, March 4. The men’s championship game will be held at 7:30 p.m. on Monday, March 6.

The top-seeded Highland men have received a first-round bye and will play the winner of the #4 seed Malcolm X and #5 seed Kankakee game on Saturday, March 4 at 6 p.m.

Women’s play will begin Saturday, March 4, at 1 p.m. and 3 p.m., with the championship game held on Monday, March 6 at 5 p.m.

The Lady Cougars are seeded #2 and will take on the #3 seed Malcolm X at 3 p.m. on Saturday, March 4.

Tickets for all games are $5 each and are available at the door. Season ticket holders and student/staff discounts do not apply to tournament games.
