Hannah M. Boldt of Freeport has been elected by her peers to serve as Student Trustee on the Highland Community College Board of Trustees until April 2021.
Boldt was seated Tuesday, Nov. 24 at the Highland Board of Trustees meeting. She serves as a liaison between the students and the board and will be a voice for the Highland students.
Boldt is a graduate of Freeport High School. She plans to graduate from Highland with an Associate of Science degree, with a goal of transferring her studies to Illinois State University to explore a career in Speech Pathology.
“I am excited to be more involved not only in my school but in my community,” Boldt said. “This allows me to be active in the decision making of my school for students now, and future students of Highland. I want to be able to make a difference in our school and be a voice from the student body.”
The Board of Illinois Community College District 519 serves Stephenson, Ogle, Jo Daviess and Carroll counties. The trustees set policy for Highland Community College and monitor the success in meeting its mission.
