The Business Institute at Highland Community College is offering a free consultation to help local employers achieve their goals, with a mission of developing strong individuals and teams through customized training, technical support and consultation.

“We’ll partner to determine your organization’s unique challenges,” said Business Institute Coordinator Stephanie Winnekins. “From there, we will work on solutions that help you succeed.”

The Business Institute’s complimentary appointment to explore the comprehensive menu of services. Instructors can provide customized solutions for training in soft skills, leadership, communication, team-building, customer service, time management, critical thinking and more.

More technical training is also offered — including welding, CNC and CAD, blueprint reading, computer training and agriculture needs. There is also assistance with health and safety workplace regulations with courses focused on OSHA, electrical safety, forklift operation, workforce violence prevention and emergency medical response.

“We are here to help our hardworking community grow through additional training without having to obtain a degree,” Winnekins said. “With all the manufacturing and farming needs in our community, we can come to them, or have them come to our conference center.”

Winnekins adds: “Our team will provide the free needs analysis and assessment report, build training around business goals, and deliver training where it is needed. We can train one employee or a group. This is a great way to discover new methods to improve your business.”
