World War II in the Pacific

This class takes a closer look at WW2 in the Pacific. It covers life on a ship, command structure, Navy terms, and types of warships used by both the US and Japan. It examines the cultural background of Japan and the US before the war. It looks at the events that led to Pearl Harbor. Time will be spent reviewing certain battles including Pearl Harbor, Bataan, Coral Sea, Midway, Guadalcanal, Tarawa, New Guinea, Leyte, Iwo Jima and Okinawa. Use of the A-bomb will be discussed. The class will also examine the view of Japan toward the war today and its effect on Asian neighbors. Course Fee $89
