Tickets for Summerset Theatre’s ‘Annie’ are currently on sale

Tickets for Summerset Theatre’s 44th season of the musical production of “Annie” will go on sale June 5. Performances will be held July 6, 7, 8, 13, 14 and 15, at 7:30 p.m., and at 2 p.m. on July 16, on the Fine Arts Theatre stage located in the Ferguson Fine Arts Center.

“Annie” is a beloved family-friendly musical with lyrics by Martin Charnin, music by Charles Strouse and book by Thomas Meehan. Highland’s production will feature a cast, crew, and orchestra of students and community members. The musical is set in New York City during the great depression. Annie lives in an orphanage run by the authoritarian Miss Hannigan. Annie dreams of a better tomorrow. Luck comes Annie’s way when she is asked to spend Christmas with the wealthy businessman, Oliver Warbucks. Mr. Warbucks is also looking for a home life and family. He finds them in Annie.

Director Laura Early, states, “Annie is a musical for the entire family. Optimistic Annie inspires us to look for the positive aspects of life and visualize a better tomorrow. Annie is also a powerful message of hope to those searching for a home.”

Tying the music together for the production will be Allen Redford as musical director. As choreographer, Sarah Long will work with the cast to bring dance steps together with the familiar music of the production. Linda Adams-Foat of Camelot Costumes will take a step back in time to bring unique costuming to the diverse cast and HCC student Alex Jansen will light up the stage as lighting designer. Mark Jansen will tie the production together stage manager.

Tickets are currently for sale at the Box Office from 1 to 5 p.m. Monday through Thursday in the Ferguson Fine Arts Center. Tickets may also be purchased online here or by calling 815.599.3718.Ticket prices are $15 for adults; $12 for seniors, and $8 for students. There is a $2 service charge per ticket.
