Faculty and Staff,
We know these are challenging times. It may be difficult to sort through it all and manage your life concerns. As a reminder, Highland Community College offers an Employee Assistance Service (EAP) through Reliance Standard called ACI. This is a free service and is currently available to all Highland Community College employees regardless of whether or not you are enrolled in the medical or life insurance benefits.
ACI’s Employee Assistance Program provides professional and confidential services by phone and online to help employees and family members address a variety of personal issues. They are available 24/7, 365 days a year. If you would like to talk with a counselor, call 855-775-4357, or you can access ACI online at http://rsli.acieap.com. Let them know you are an employee (or family member) of Highland Community College. If asked, Highland’s policy number is #GL647118.
One of the new challenges to us may be working from home. Finding a balance and keeping a routine for daily activities will be helpful. It may not be the same as when you were coming into the office, but wake up around the same time every day and have a routine for your work-day/home schedule. Don’t forget to take breaks throughout the day. If possible, go outside and breathe in some fresh air, walk around your house, enjoy your favorite afternoon snack. Also, try to keep your home “workspace” separate from where you usually spend your relaxing family time so that when your day is over, you won’t feel inclined to continue working throughout your evening.
We want to hear from you! What are you doing that works for you? We will share these with other HCC Cougar Community members. Email your work from home stories to HR@Highland.edu.
Thank you for your continued support of our students and each other.
