COVID-19 Updates 10/23/20

Hello Faculty, Staff, and Students,

Governor JB Pritzker and the Illinois Department of Public Health announced Thursday that our region will have additional mitigations starting on Sunday, October 25. When our region or state changes guidance around the pandemic, our emergency management team evaluates our current campus practice, makes adjustments as needed, and communicates any guidance to you.

After reviewing the added mitigations, Highland Community College’s impact is minimal. The public conference center and any in-person meeting will change from a 25-person limit to 10. The rest of our campus will remain operating as we have been since August and continue to monitor our campus foot traffic.

I would like to thank all of you for helping to keep our campus safe. Your careful guidance has allowed us to remain open and operating. Please, continue to practice social distancing, wearing a mask, and self-monitoring for symptoms. If you are waiting for test results or feeling sick, please do not come to campus. As a reminder, you can reference all of our guidance at highland.edu/hcc-advisory Cougars, continue to mask-up and work hard. The end of the semester is near!

Take care of yourselves,
– President Chris Kuberski
