What You’ll Learn

When you earn your Associate of Science (AS) degree in Mathematics at Highland Community College you’ll spend your class periods working on mathematical theories, relationships, methods, and principles that will prepare you to solve problems in the academic, scientific, business, and industrial fields.

You will also gain valuable hands-on experience with Maple, a math software commonly used by professionals in the fields of mechanical engineering, industrial automation, aerospace, vehicle engineering, and robotics to analyze, explore, visualize, and solve mathematical problems. With this foundation, you will be prepared to write programs in upper-level mathematics courses and in a wide range of math-based careers.

Designed for students intending to pursue a baccalaureate degree in mathematics, HCC’s AS program has been structured with a course sequence guaranteed to prepare you to transition seamlessly into your junior year at a four-year college or university.
