Freedom of Information

The Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) is a law in Illinois that governs access to public records. It is a pro-disclosure statue that grants the public the right to obtain documents and record from public bodies. Individuals may request copies of records on specific topics, and the public body is required to provide them unless a statutory exemption applies that prevents their release.

About Highland Community College

Highland Community College District No. 519 is a public community college providing vocational and higher education to residents of the District. The College is recognized and meets the standards for approval established by the Illinois Community College Board. The College is governed by a Board of Trustees elected by the residents of the Community College District. Filing a Freedom of Information Request

Freedom of Information (FOI) requests must be received by one of the College’s Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) Officers in writing and may be submitted using the form below. To help ensure a timely response, those considering an FOI request are encouraged to call 815.599.3514 prior to submitting the FOI Request Form.
