FREEPORT — The Highland Community College Foundation is seeking nominations for its 26th annual Distinguished Alumni Awards. Recipients will be honored with a ceremony at the Foundation’s gathering on November 17.

“The Foundation is looking for individuals who made their start at Highland, believe in the mission of community colleges in higher education, and have demonstrated community leadership and professional achievement,” said Foundation Director of Operations Pat Dunn, coordinator of the Distinguished Alumni Awards program.

The Foundation’s Alumni Development Committee will review the nominations and select award recipients. Nominees with an earned degree are preferred, although those who have taken some classes at Highland or participated in the Leadership Forum or Leadership Institute will also be considered. They are not required to reside in the Highland District.

Since the award’s inception in 1995, the Foundation and Highland have recognized more than 130 individuals making a difference in their community as Distinguished Alumni.

Deadline for submission of nomination forms is Saturday, Oct. 15. The forms are available at highland.edu/foundation. For questions, contact Pat Dunn at 815-599-3413 or foundation@highland.edu.
