FREEPORT — The sweet notes of spring are blooming at Highland’s Ferguson Fine Arts Center!
On Friday, April 25, the HCC Big Band will perform an eclectic and energetic jazz mix featuring guest vocalist Erin Schrader under the direction of Bill Peterson. This event is free and doesn’t require tickets.
On Friday, May 2 at 7 p.m., under the direction of Scott Stich, the Spring Instrumental Concert will begin with a lively percussion quartet, followed by a wind ensemble premiere from local composer Gary Brubaker and the fresh, innovative “Dreamers Overture” composed by rising star Duroje Gwamna. The event will close with an Elton John tribute that’s sure to please!
The following Friday, May 9 at 7 p.m., The Royal Scots, directed by Dr. Randy Haldeman and accompanied by The Highland Watch Band, will serve up a boot-scootin’ performance. It’s sure to be a fun-filled evening featuring a fresh take on beloved country classics.
With Summerset’s 50th anniversary just around the bend, now is the best time for fans of live theatre to snag the best seats in the house for the widely anticipated production of Rodgers and Hammerstein’s Cinderella, with performances running June 20 through 29. While Cinderella’s online ticket sales are now live, phone and in-person sales will open May 19 at 1 p.m.
